Cash Prizes for Student Blog Pieces

H2O Score is now accepting submissions for monthly blog content.

Each month we’ll announce a new topic related to freshwater sustainability, invite submissions from around the globe, and then publish the most interesting, challenging, provocative, and inspiring blog posts.

Five pieces will be selected and published each month with the top student entry receiving a $100 prize!

The top five blog posts in September will be announced in conjunction with our Water Summit 2012 being held on October 9-10.  September’s posts should pertain to the Summit theme, “Building the Water-Centric City.” What does a water-centric city look like? What about the potential for water-centric villages in developing countries? What challenges do cities face when it comes to water and what are some potential solutions?

To participate in the first month of the contest, submit your blog post to blog@h2oscore.com by midnight CST on September 30. Students must identify the school in which they are enrolled for prize eligibility.

About The Water Council

The Water Council, the only organization of its kind in the United States, was established in 2009 by Milwaukee-area businesses, education and government leaders. With more than 150 water technology companies in the Milwaukee area, the region’s water industry is a $10.5 billion dollar market and accounts for four percent of the world’s total water business. The non-profit organization is linking together global water technology companies, innovative water entrepreneurs, acclaimed academic research programs and, most importantly, some of the nation’s brightest and most energetic professionals. The Water Council is capturing the attention of the world and transforming the Milwaukee region into a World Water Hub for freshwater research, economic development and education. The Water Council is located in the Global Water Center at 247 W. Freshwater Way, Suite 500, Milwaukee, WI 53204.
