Each day, we will feature special activities to jump-start conversations about water innovation and opportunities for investors to get involved in Milwaukee’s water technology cluster.

Investments in Water Innovation Week – Details

The week will kick-off with a very special press conference held at the Global Water Center, hosted by The Water Council and JPMorgan Chase & Co. You may recall that in July, JPMorgan Chase & Co. launched its Small Business Forward program in 10 cities across the United States. Milwaukee, and The Water Council, were chosen as one of these pioneering cities to take part in the inaugural year due to our work connecting “freshwater research, innovation, education, and business development to make Milwaukee a hub of water technology. Immediately following the press conference, a panel discussion will be held regarding the advantages of investing in water technology startups, presented by JPMorgan Chase & Co. and The Water Council. Panelists with perspectives from various stages of investment will be on hand to share their experiences, answer questions, and explain why investing in this growing market is a must! On Tuesday, August 26, The Water Council travels to Madison, WI. to attend the Wisconsin Innovation Awards. The Council, nominated twice, will be on hand to support innovation and groundbreaking ideas in Wisconsin. This is the first year for the Wisconsin Innovation Awards, which are part of the larger, Forward Technology Festival. Reserve your tickets by August 22, HERE.

Wednesday evening we officially welcome The BREW Batch II Winners to the Global Water Center during The BREW Batch II Welcome Reception. The evening will feature brief remarks and check presentation to Batch II Winners, followed by appetizers and Brews generously provided by MillerCoors. Investments in Water Innovation Week concludes Thursday, August 28, with “How your company can tap into The Water Council’s Network at WEFTEC 2014.” The Water Council and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation invite you to learn about coordinated efforts to promote Wisconsin-based water technology companies at the Water Environment Federation’s Technical Exhibition and Conference (WEFTEC), the world’s largest annual water quality exhibition. The Wisconsin Water Innovation Pavilion will serve as a general networking and gathering space for all Wisconsin water-sector companies, providing businesses of all sizes a platform to achieve maximum visibility to a national and international audience.
